God's existence revisited

There was a story I heard about a workman and two esteemed scholars. The workman came in to the pub one afternoon for lunch, he ordered his lunch, it arrived and he ate his meal and drank his pint. As he got up to approach the bar to pay for his meal, he walked by a table with two scholarly gents in fine attire, fiercely debating the existence of God. The table was laid out with the finest food the bar had to offer and the tables on either side were littered with empty glasses.

After work the same man went to the pub for his usual after work refreshment. He noticed the same two gentlemen still engaged in their heated debate, the food untouched, the table still full of glasses. The man drank his ale, paid and left.

Later that evening, the barman announced the inn was closing, would they please drink up and settle accounts. The two men resigned that they could no longer continue their debate paid the tab and left.

The barman cleaned up the glasses took the plates with the untouched food and fed them to his dog.

My question, does the dog believe that God answers prayer?

Who is wiser for the days results, The workman or the Scholar?
